Podcasting in the Classroom
March 11th, 2008
Recently my freshman seminar students tweaked our curriculum to include a podcast to their parents. The students created their own site called Blue Devil Radio http://bluedevilradio.podbean.com . Please visit their site to listen to their emotional ode to their parents.
As a result of their hard work. The students received recognition from the author of the curriculum! Dr. Joe Hoedell sent us a check for $100 for the “best adaptation of the curriculum this year”. We are so excited to buy something new for our classroom!!

The Three Little Pigs and the Graduation Project
October 2nd, 2007
North Carolina State Superintendent June St. Clair Atkinson shared a twist on a popular children’s story at a recent NC Graduation Project Coordinator’s meeting. I was able to obtain a copy of this story and would like to share it with you so you might fully understand why NC Graduation Projects will be required for all NC graduates starting with the class of 2010.
After listening to this episode please post a comment responding to: Which school do you teach in/belong to…straw, sticks or brick?
I had been previoulsy advised to pull this podcast down. But with permission directly from State Superintendent June St. Claire Atkinson it is back! Is she the best or what?!
Got dial-up? No worries! Read the story in full though on the NC DPI blog here: http://apps.ncpublicschools.org/statesuperintendent/blog/2007/09/27/the-three-little-pigs-and-the-graduation-project/
